It’s Up to the Voters!

At the November 3rd City Council meeting, the Council selected February 2, 2010 as the election date for the Revitalize Alameda Point initiative.

“We’re pleased that the initiative is now scheduled to go before a vote of the people so that the citizens of Alameda can be the ones to determine the future of Alameda Point,” commented AAPR President Doug Siden. “Alamedans now have a unique opportunity to transform the blighted, largely unusable former Navy base into a vibrant new neighborhood with homes, jobs, parks, civic amenities and breathtaking views that will benefit all Alamedans.”

The February 2nd date will be a special election at a cost to the City of between $235,000 - $325,000.
